Bodybuilding Diet
If you’re looking to gain muscle then choosing a good bodybuilding diet is essential. Just like your parents and teachers used to tell you about milk being good for bones carrots being good for your eyes, good bodybuilding diets are required when you want to build good solid muscle.
So exactly what constitutes a good body building diet? Now everyone is different and reacts differently to different types of foods for example some people are just great with eating meat and others may not be. Some people love fish (great protein by the way) and do well eating it while others arrive in hospital if they try.
The essential thing to remember about a muscle building diet is you need to eat the correct proportions of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Together they will provide the body with the correct nutrients for building great muscle, as well and providing the body with the correct nourishment for effective workouts.
I am sure we all remember seeing bodybuilders on TV discussing just what they eat in a single day. The more developed the muscles of a bodybuilder, the more they eat. Do you remember how much what they were eating though. Really scary! Their diet consisted of large amounts of protein, fibre and carbohydrates with just the right amount of fat. (Like 10 eggs, buckets of pasta)
We are not saying you should go and eat the same amount as those bodybuilders, unless of course you have loads of muscle. However it is important to get the balance right and the correct amount of food in order to build muscle.
The frequency of meals is also important. It is definitely a good idea to do your workouts with something in your stomach, as this stops the body cannibalizing itself in order to provide you with the energy to conduct your muscle building workout.
The amount of calories you consume is also important. In order to gain muscle mass the body needs a little extra food, but not too much. If you’re starving your body, by eating to few calories, then it is almost impossible to put on muscle mass. If you over eat the body will not use all the calories and all the excess has to calories will simply be stored as fat.
So let’s summarise what take aways are for a good bodybuilding diet:
Could balance between proteins carbohydrates and fats.
- Eat between five and six meals a day
- Eat the correct amount of calories
- Eat good-quality foods.
That’s it. Have fun building that bodybuilding diet!
