What’s the Best Way to Lose Fat and Gain Muscle?
It’s really just a matter of getting down to the basics. In order to lose fat and gain muscle, focus on eating food that won’t be stored as excess fat and instead will optimize on building muscle. Protein is necessary to build muscle and you can also use supplements to help you along. Lean beef, chicken, turkey and fish are all good. Also add eggs and whey protein to your diet. Complex carbohydrates include oatmeal, fresh fruit, brown rice, whole grains and sweet potatoes. Healthy fats are olive oil, natural peanut butter, flaxseed oil, avocados, nuts and seeds.
Eat carbohydrates earlier in the day so you will have time to work them off. It also doesn’t help your sleep cycles if you eat a lot right before bed. Instead have a protein shake and a couple tablespoons of flaxseed oil to promote muscle building while you rest.
Walking is a great exercise. Thirty minutes a day is great and you don’t have to do it all at once. Remember to swing your arms and hold in your abs. You can also alternate with tightening your arms and glutes. Push ups and chin ups are excellent basic body building exercises because you are lifting your body weight. Tense your muscles as you do the reps to get an increased workout or use one arm. Start with these basics and move into working out with weights to really build your muscle mass.
