Keep it Simple

Reg Park, of fitness fame has a particular routine that involves 5 repetitions of five sets of exercises that can be used.
For the exercises you choose, incorporate 5 lots of five repetitions.

Be sure to add an extra five pounds until it becomes a bit difficult to lift.
The last repitition must be really tough to follow through with. If not, add some more weight to it.
It’s a workout that can be adjusted accordingly to suit you.
It’s probably more ideal to stick with concentrating on one area, say the upper body first, on one day, and then do the lower half on a separate day. The above 5 x 5 workout can be applied to your choosen fitness workout.
Effective Exercises to Partake In

Dead Lifts
Position yourself upright, having a barbell directly infront of your toes on the ground.
Slowly bend your knees and take hold of the barbell, with your head back and back straight.
Come back to a standing position with your knees straight. Have your arms stay straight as you lift up the weight.
Have the knees bent, with the arms straight returning the barbell to the ground.

Squats
Set the barbell up so it is resting on the back of your shoulders behind your head.
Hold onto the barbell firmly.
Slowly dip down into a squatting position, keeping the head up with your body aligned.
Make sure that both the back and chin remain up and straight.
Come back into a standing pose.
The Bench Press
While resting flat on the bench, and feet on the floor.
Then, slowly lift the barbell from it’s rack with both hands holding it firmly.
Carefully bring the barbell to your chest with bent elbows.
Push the barbell back up where it is directly back infront of you.
Eat a Fair Amount of Protein
Make sure you eat enough foods that have high quality protein - such as lean meats, egg whites, salmon, tuna and whey protein shakes.
Meals should be split into six portions, and eaten at least every three hours.
Although you will not spot instant results overnight, if you keep working at it and incorporate these diciplines, you will be well on your way to gain muscle mass fast.
