Best Way To Get Six Pack

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

Are your flabby abs or “flabs” depressing you? Are you dying to get six pack abs?  Then you’re in luck because you’ve come to the right place.  You’ve probably tried countless of exercises already, each promising to get your abs in shape.  But, most likely, none have lived up to their promises or you wouldn’t be here.  Below are five tips you can follow so you can finally get started on getting your stomach to a better shape.  If you want faster and more “ripped” abs though, I highly recommmend  The Truth About Six Pack Abs by Mike Geary.

Here’s my five-step formula for getting a six pack:

Number one: Start eating right.  Complex meals are always the best way to get your nourishment.  That means for each meal, you ought to have carbohydrates, protein and fiber on your plate.  Always making sure you have these three food groups paired off in each meal helps you get into the habit of eating healthy.  Eating healthy is vital to building your abdominal muscles or your core and shedding off fat so those muscles can be shown.

Second is exercise.  Exercise doesn’t have to be complicated.  Truth is, a really good 20-minute combination of cardio and crunches can already make for an effective six pack abs workout.  The secret lies in the variety.  Strain or resistance are the building blocks of muscles, they have to be present in order for muscles to grow and be maintained.  Muscles adapt to resistance so if you want them to grow and stay in place, you have to shock them by changing up your six pack abs workout.  You can change it up every two weeks or so.  For examples of ab exercises, read Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto.  It also has a helpful set of meal plans you can work with.

Get enough rest and sleep.  Make sure your muscles get the rest they need.  Wait until the pain or strain goes away before you do your workout again for the muscles to completely heal.  Along with rest is sleep.  Doing enough of both helps you avoid stress.  Abdominal fat is avoided when you avoid stress.  One of the body’s defense mechanism against stress is through storing fat.  Your body does not have to set off into a defensive mode if you exercise or get enough rest.

Last but definitely not the least are these two tips that few people really know about but which I actually swear by: The 15-Minute Standing Rule and The Stomach Vacuum.  The 15-Minute Standing Rule requires you to stand up for 15 minutes after each meal, especially if they’re big ones.  This minimizes the bulging (which results when you remain seated after a meal) and encourages proper digestion and flattening of the stomach.  The Stomach Vacuum involves proper breathing and the sucking in of your gut, an exercise that will work your inner abdominal muscles which can not be reached by ordinary crunches.  Doing this exercise can cut inches off your waist, as long as you hold other things like diet and rest equal.  Know more about this technique by visiting Burn the Fat Review at ReviewMOZ.org.
